Lakes Road Club member Jack Talbot has only gone and got himself nominated for a Cycling Weekly Award!
For their Best Charitable Initiative Award in association with Sports Tours international Cycling Weekly are looking for individual or group who set out on their bikes to raise money or awareness for a good cause. This is also about an inspiring story and a genuine commitment to make a difference for or through cycling.
Nominations have been made and the judges have whittled the nominees down to a shortlist of four, including Jack.
For those of you who don’t know Jack, he was hit by a drunk driver who was trying to escape from the police at 50 mph in Ulverston in July 2017 – Jack sustained a life-threatening head injury, spent 13 days in an induced coma but came back to ride the coast to coast in a day earlier in the year, raising funds for the Air Ambulance service that saved his life.
