TLI- Preston- June

Brian Pearson also raced the TLI at preston and came 2nd, he was part of a group of 3 vet’s that managed to stay clear of the younger lads who had to try and make up a headstart of 1 lap. He also took one of the vet primes, well done Bri.

Kevin Chadwick was 5th in his category and took the prime lap.

The club was represented by 6 riders at the Lazonby Road Race yesterday; Craig Steele and David Huck racing in the E1/2/3 and Kieran Lacey, Joey Richards, Darren Brackwell & Kevin Chadwick racing in the 3/4. Great rides by all the team and a great result for Kieran and Joey finishing 5th & 7th respectively on a tough up hill finish in the 3/4 race.

Castle Carrock Road Race- 20th March

Andy, Kieron, Daz and me got broken in for the season at the 2,3,4 cat at Brampton. Hard work to make anything happen on a flat course. A break of 3 somehow managed to keep away even though they were brought back to within 30m with 8 miles to go. We were left to fight for scraps in the bunch sprint. The boys did some great work on the last lap to keep me out of the wind and I managed second in the bunch sprint for 5th. Top effort fellas.

Craig Steele.

Lancaster Crit Series- March

Lancaster put on a series of 4 crit races early in the season to get the legs going. It has been a good start for LRC with points for Kev Chadwick in the 3/4’s finishing 7th in his first race and Graham Carrick in the 4’s with a 10th place in his first race. Hopefully more to come.

Week 3 saw three LRC riders compete. Andy and Chris Gunson came down alongside myself. We all managed to score points in the 4th cat race with Andy 4th, me 6th and Chris 7th.

In the following 3/4 cat race Andy managed 9th place we other local rider Tom Martin taking second. Chapeau!!

Week 4 saw 4 LRC lads down at Salt ayre. Andy & Chris Gunson raced both the 4ths & the 3/4, Dave Huck raced in the 3/4s and Kev raced the 3/4s & E/1/2’s. Andy came 3rd in 4th cat. Kev came first in the 3/4s and 8th in the E/1/2’s.

A good start to the crit season and well done to all the LRC lads who competed
