Lakes RC rider Kev in Chadwick has continued his storming performances over the last few weeks in the recent Barrow Central Wheelers Time Trials, with some great result, with plenty of other Lakes riders giving it their best shot in the events as well.
Wednesday 21st June saw the running of the Jackson Trophy 25, on the tough Coast Road course. The winning time of the night was a cracking 56:06 set by Dave Huck, continuing his amazing season, but Kev Chadwick pushed him extremely close, coming in just 7 seconds behind for a storming second place. Brilliant ride Kev!
Kev was followed in 3rd place by Mark Edwards from Kendal CC in 57:32.
The next Lakes rider home was Jon Brown who rounded out the top 10 in 1:04:16 – great ride Jon! Chris Bugler came home in 1:09:04 for 16th place out of the 27 rider field. Good effort all round lads!
The next event was the Inter Club 21, also on the Coast Road, another tough course, on a warm night with light (ish) winds. There was a healthy 35 rider field, with Kev Chadwick coming top of the Lakes RC riders, another podium spot in 3rd place with a time of 48:51 just 9 seconds behind Kent valley RC’s very promising junior George Wharton. Dave Huck was in first place with a super fast 47:14!
Chris Anderson put off retirement for another week with a great 51:20 to come in 8th, followed by John Lever in 13th with a 55:14 and a course PB – well done John.
Not far behind was Richard Dixon who came home in 15th with a 56:02, also for a course PB. Hot on his heels was Steve Morrison in 56:20 for 16th – great ride Steve.
Commiserations to Kieran Lacey who unfortunately had a bad fall after hitting a pothole whilst at full speed, causing a few injuries, the worst being a fractured pelvis. Get well soon Kieran.
As ever – well done lads, and do turn up and have a go its great fun.
